8 years ago in the month of January was the time when we said our vows for each other, when we promised to commit togetherness in front of our family and friends in the sacred place of God.
“Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairytale” .
A quote that best describes me and our Love story. I was just an ordinary girl living a simple life in the Philippines, until I bravely ventured in the internet and found my man, now my husband. Of course, we had our first of many moments too. Then everything just happened in the blink of an eye afterwards.
It was one fine Monday when the big day happened. I remembered it as a very hectic day for everyone more so for me, had some make-up and hair done together with my maid of honor and my bridesmaids the whole morning. Wedding was at 3:00pm in the Cathedral, I’m a Catholic so I preferred to have a mass before the wedding ceremony itself and I’m glad he respected that. Then it was followed by a garden reception and the event finished off with a cracking fireworks. We had a blast and it was all I wished and dreamed of.
This month is our 8th wedding anniversary. It’s utterly unbelievable how time flies unknowingly so quick. From the moment we had a glimpse of each other until now that our family have grown and progressed. It’s an overwhelming feeling and yet so incredibly heartwarming. Looking back at how our relationship started, it made me realize that life is full of surprises, sometimes you have to take risk even beyond your comfort zone if you want to reach out to your dreams and make it a reality and be ready to happily embrace the great things that life has to offer.
Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not! Staring at my two little kids sums up everything. The happiness, responsibility, love, commitment and dedication we have for each other had bear fruits worth cherishing. The life I have with my family is the only world I have known which I want to wholeheartedly nurture, foster and protect. I’m so lucky that I met somebody who share the same family values and vision as I do.
Here’s me crossing my fingers and praying constantly that through sorrow and joy, ups and downs that we will lovingly share a never-ending years together.
How did you met your boyfriend/partner/husband?
