Gro to bed – Review

Reimer and Ruby are already into their own single beds for a while now.  Unfortunately despite of Reimer’s age, he still falls off the bed every now and then,  or if not him, its his pillow or duvet cover as I can sometimes see it lying in the floor in the morning.  I suspect he tossed and turned a lot while sleeping.

When The Gro Company offered me to review one of their products, I jumped at an opportunity.  Looking through their website, you’ll be spoiled with various choices of sleep essentials ideal from babies to toddlers.  I’ve finally chosen the Racing Ahead Gro to bed for Single Bed  as I was extremely curious of its unique zip-in system.  It has a size of 90 x 190 cm which is perfect for Reimer’s bed.  What appeals to me as well is how it’s made with 100% premium cotton.   Additionally, I was also attracted with its really lovely tyre track design and cool color combination because for sure Reimer would love it being a big fan of blue.

The box arrived well compact which is not what I expected as I thought it will be in a big bulky package.   Anyhow, when I eventually opened the box, I was in great awe as to how the bedding set appeared as it looked so peculiar from the usual bedding set we normally buy.  The pillow case, duvet cover and the sheet seemed all attached  together which I initially find so out of the ordinary in a positive way though.  However, I was really delighted knowing the set includes the fitted sheet which is a big bonus as I don’t need to buy one separately.

As I was reading through the box, I find this very valuable and interesting information:

Who is Gro-to-bed for?  The Gro-to-bed is ideal for toddlers making the transition from cot to bed, or Grobag to bedding.   It is also recommended from 2 years +.

How does Gro-to-bed work?  Gro-to-bed’s fitted sheet securely zips to the integrated cover, effectively turning your child’s cot bed into a giant Grobag.  The pillowcase is attached to the bottom sheet to ensure it stays in place.

What are the benefits of Gro-to-bed?  Gro-to-bed’s unique side zips keeps the bedding and your child securely in place, helping to prevent night time fall-outs or cover kick-offs.

The bedding set contains the following:

Pillow case that is attached to the bottom sheet to stop the child’s head from going underneath the pillow.

Pillow case that stays in place

Duvet Cover which has side zips that keeps bedding in place and helps prevent your child from falling out of bed.

Duvet cover that won't fall off

Bottom fitted sheet that fixes securely with an elastic strap that goes right under the mattress.

Bottom sheet that doesn't move.

Of course, as soon as I set up his new bedding sheet, he got too excited and jumped in to give it a try.   He loved its color at first sight.  He liked how the pillow case and duvet cover are both securely attached to the sheet which means he won’t anymore get cold in the middle of the night when his duvet falls off.  Thus, giving him a good night and uninterrupted sleep.  He is absolutely pleased with it.  I have to say, I’m totally impressed of how its conveniently designed with excellent safety features .

He independently zipped up both sides of his duvet cover.
A silly attempt of falling off the bed but unsuccessful.

Looking so pleased and happy with his new bedding set.
Looking so comfy and cozy with his new bedding set.

Overall, I find Gro to bed’s design so practical and functional with an assurance of a safer sleep for kids.  I think I can confidently say that I recommend this product 100%.  Indeed it is what every child needs to have a good night’s sleep!

  • Great idea. We could have done with these when the Tubblet was smaller. So cosy!

  • This looks brilliant! Love the colours and looks fab at stopping them falling out. Thanks for linking up to the first ever #bigpinklink

Definitely a great idea in giving kids a safe and a good night sleep! Thanks for your lovely comment!

  • Wow I didn’t realise Gro did sleeping bags for older children as well. I thought it was just under 2s really, but I guess with an 18 month old, I wouldn’t know. #thebabyformula

I didn’t realize it before either but yeah they do and I think it’s so ideal for your 18 month old too! I was so impressed with the sheet I’ve got… Thanks for stopping by!

  • What a great product! I was aware of the Gro bags, but not this and wish I knew about it sooner! My little one is 2.5 years and made the transition to her cot bed around 18ish months. Initially she was falling out of her bed (luckily it is very low) so it would have been good to have had one of these then. Shes now made the transition and can sleep quite well in her own bed. Still I’d love to try it so may take a look at their range online 🙂 Emily #TriedTested

I think if it’s good for my 5 yr old who still falls out of bed, it would be good for your 2 yrs old as well. Hope you’ll find something nice for your little one. Thanks!

  • This is pure genius….and I don’t even have kids. I just love how far products have come since I was a child. Very nice review, Cheryl!

I know, this one didn’t exist when I was still young either… Definitely pure genius! Thanks

  • This looks like a fantastic product. I’ll definitely remember this for the future when H is older. Hope it’s still working well and Reimer is sleeping well and hasn’t figured out how to fall out of bed yet 🙂
    Thanks for sharing #TheBabyFormula

Definitely is a fantastic product. He made sure to zip up his duvet to the sheet so he won’t fall out, he’s a bit clever that way, lol. Yep I think this is very ideal for H on her transition stage. Thanks for dropping by Lynne!

  • Oh wow they look great! I love the Gro Company ! Thanks for linking up to #justanotherlinky

  • How very innovative?! It is really like a big sleeping bag. That is a really good. Your boy looks like he is loving his new bedding too. I think Ethan has grown out of dropping out of bed – he is quite used to getting up and go to the toilet all by himself at night – but still needs assistance getting back into bed though. And weirdly enough – Evelyn doesn’t have this problem at all – she just slides herself out and comes into my bed in the middle of the night. lol! But it is great to know that this kind of product is out in the market for parents peace of mind. Thank you so much Cheryl for linking up with us again on #FabFridayPost

Well done to your two kiddos! Ruby is actually very good at night, she haven’t fallen off bed since she’s already in her single bed, it’s only Reimer having the same problem until now having the Gro to Bed. Although he’s not bothered falling off bed but his sleep is interrupted, so this sheet definitely helps a lot. Thanks for stopping by Su!

  • What a good idea. I can’t believe that someone hasn’t thought of this before. I hope you are still enjoying good nights’ sleep with it.

Same here, I’ve only heard about grobags before but not gro to bed. This one is a must for kid’s transition stage from cot to bed. Thanks for stopping by!
