Can any of you believe that June is already over? I just love how June’s long bright daylights bring cheerfulness in me and to everyone I would think. It’s unthinkable though how June just flew by with all its haste. I hate the thought that our longest days has past because it means we are now heading towards the cold, dark and freezing times soon.
Another thing I love about June is because it’s also my birthday month, time to celebrate, yay! I think it’s safe to say that June is one of my fave month. However, June this year was rather a disappointment weather-wise. On the hindsight, my summer blooms had started showing its beauty this month which is such a beautiful sight in my garden.
Anyway, I’m here again for our highlights of the month
- First Blog Anniversary
This time last year, the 1st of June was the day when I braved myself and purchased a domain name. I went self-hosted straight away as advised by my dear friend who is also a blogger, who motivated me to start my own blog which I had been longing to do.
One year after, I have to say, I’ve learned a lot… I’ve learned to overcome my shyness and being too self-conscious with what I’m writing. I’ve learned not just writing my thoughts but the technical side of it too. I’ve learned that blogging is not a simple thing to do, it can be complicated, confusing and time-consuming as well. I’ve learned that there are a lot of bloggers out there who are so friendly, so supportive and so willing to help each other and that the blogging community is a wonderful group to be part of.
- Ruby and her Nursery
I’m sure I have mentioned it in my last month’s Highlights that we got a letter for Ruby’s pre – school placement. A few weeks after that, we received another letter for an appointment for her enrollment and her first visit to the Nursery.
I took this snap of her yesterday after her visit to the Nursery she’s enrolled at. I can hardly believe that she will be starting pre-school come August. She is definitely growing fast before our eyes. 💕 This photo reveals that although she’s at the age where she’s still full of innocence and yet she’s brimming of excitement of what the future lies ahead of her. 💗 #pbloggers #mummybloggers #nursery #preschool #uk #littlefierceones #milestone #capturingmoments #childhood

We always walked past this Nursery School every time we dropped off Reimer to school. Can you imagine how she feels when she finally step foot on the Nursery? I know these are all exciting times for her, so am I. I felt bad that I wasn’t able to go with her during her first visit as I was working, it was her Dad who went with her this time. I managed to take a snap of her though when I arrived home as she proudly showed to me her stickers.
- Change of shift at work
Finally, after a long wait for this shift to come up available, it eventually did. I wasn’t expecting too much from it initially because I’ve known a lot of my workmates from different shifts who have put their applications for it as well. All of us were called in for an interview including myself and I have stated all the advantages of getting the shift change which mostly is for the benefit of my family.
One morning after the closing date of the applications, I was called in to our Manager’s office and expecting for a bad news, but luckily it wasn’t bad at all. She offered me the shift, yay! I was one fortunate girl that day… I started the new shift the following week after I was told, and it made so much difference in my well-being and my family situation. You can read more of it on my previous post Why I choose family first, work next….
- Reimer’s Sports Day
This is Reimer’s first time to join a School’s Sports Day and he was super excited about it. When I finished work that day, I went to their school straight away so I can see how he was getting on. All the kids were in the mood for it, they were all geared with their joggers and trainers ready to be active in spite of the rather cloudy weather.
Reimer is a very competitive boy, he always wants to win or to be the first. It’s not always a good thing though but on a Sports Day like this, his attitude got the advantage. He have done really well on almost all relays, he used his quickness and alertness which I’m so proud of. Most importantly, he had good fun and enjoyed the day.
- My Birthday
I can’t believe I am another year older this month. The day before my birthday, I treat myself with a new haircut and went out for lunch with some of my friends as I was off work. On the day of my birthday, my husband surprised me by being off work as well, he treat me out for lunch while Reimer was in school and Ruby was at childminders. We rarely go out with just the two of us, so it turned out to be a perfect romantic date.
That weekend after my birthday, I have invited other friends as well to come over as I didn’t manage to meet up with them for lunch . It was really nice catching up with friends especially on occasions like this.
That’s how my birthday celebration ended the month of June.
