Month of April simply means Spring time is here. Although the weather here in Scotland last April might not feel like Spring just yet, as it was cold, windy, wet and even snowy at one point which is a real shame. On the hindsight, I started to see the beautiful buds of Spring flowers coming through. In fact, whilst writing this I’ve looked across my daffodils and tulips in my garden which are now in full bloom.
Anyhow, it’s highlights of the month time again. To be honest, I was really lazy recently that’s why this is rather late but fortunately still manage to write one up which all that matters.
We have not been up to a lot of stuff this month, so here goes my highlight of the month:
- Family time
We started off the month with a trip to Five Sisters Zoo. It was the first week of Easter school holidays when I was off work so it was a perfect time for family day out again. I must say, it was a lovely family bonding time again whilst exploring various animals in the Zoo.
- First time experience
It was one weekend when it was just the 3 of us at home because my husband was away to work. So I decided to ride on bus and go to the Centre for some shopping, bargain hunting to be exact.
We rode on a double decker bus and Reimer suggested to go upstairs as they have never tried sitting on the top ever since. Hence, we did! I was glad I did because while we were on top, Reimer and Ruby’s eyes were both glued staring through the front window looking so amazed because of the wide view of the road I guess. When we went down the bus, Reimer said “Mummy I really liked to be on top of the bus, it was so much fun.” Little things like this seemed ordinary but for kids, they’re some special experience.
I think anyone can tell that we don’t ride on a bus that often. That’s why my kids got overly excited every time we hop into one.
- Ruby’s first haircut
It was the day before Ruby’s 3rd birthday when I have her booked for her first haircut at our nearby hairdresser. It was her very first time ever since and I was so impressed how well behaved she had been. I think she loved being pampered, who doesn’t anyway?!
I initially thought I won’t anymore see her lovely curls after the haircut but it did remain. I just can’t get my eyes off her. She looks so adorable.
- Ruby’s 3rd birthday
My little lady turned 3 this month already. I can no longer hold on time, Ruby’s not anymore a baby!
Her birthday celebration is quiet and exclusive only for family. We have invited her grandad, uncles, aunties and cousins. There’s no kiddie party, it was rather a simple family affair I would say. However, she still got balloons, cakes and loads of presents.
- Parcel for Ruby
I’m so grateful having a friend that although she lives in America but are still in close relationship with me. She won’t fail to send special presents for my little ones during their birthdays. She had sent one for Reimer as well on his last birthday, Little man got a parcel.
This time Ruby got a parcel for her birthday. She was so excited opening it and was so happy what’s inside it. There’s some clothes, toy and mummy got some herbal teas too. I think we are all so spoiled. All I can say is, Thank you very much my dear friend for your love and thoughtfulness.
How was your month of April?
Have you done something special or any first time experience for the kids?
