As the year 2015 comes close to an end. I have to say, life has really been challenging for us this year. It involves a lot of ups and downs. There were good and bad days too. In spite of it all, life still continued normally as its expected it to be. As the new year starts to unfold, each and everyone of us are also starting a new life journey to travel, a new story to tell and a new book to fill the pages up.
Before I begin to flip a new page for the new year. I will be reflecting and looking back the memorable moments we had for the year as my highlights for 2015!
- Holiday in Philippines
It was March when we finally had a Holiday to the Philippines to visit my family back home, that was almost 4 years since the last time I visited home. It was the first time that my family back home had met Ruby and Reimer now slightly grown up. Ruby celebrated her 2nd birthday there too.
I had a great time bonding with my family again like the good old days because I missed those moments a lot. I think it’s safe to say that it was the most memorable time of the year for me.
- Started my Blog
With a lot of encouragement and persuasion from my friend who is also a blogger, I finally took the plunge. It was 1st of June of this year when I purchased my own domain name with very little clue of how to start blogging yet. After a little research and help from my friend, I gradually get the hang of it.
Since then, I loved and enjoyed every single bit of it and I have no regret of starting one. I have known a lot of new blogging friends, been part of a blogging community which are so friendly and supportive all the way. On top of that, I also made a few Collaborations with PRs and Brands which is so self-fulfilling as a blogger. Most of all, I have to say a massive thanks to my friend who have helped me and given me advice from the very beginning.
- Trip to Legoland
July of this year when Reimer turned 5 where we surprised him to a Trip to Legoland. Of course, he was the luckiest and happiest boy that time. We visited my friends too who lives down in Surrey and in Reading, so that trip was like killing two birds with one stone.
Staring at how he have grown so fast is just unthinkable. I must admit, he was not a very well behaved little boy but his frolicsome and playful character displays his lively personality. We always have this joke at home for him that says “the world can’t handle another Reimer” lol
- Reimer started Big school
Being a proud 5 year old kid, Reimer was his happiest self when he started Big school. Capturing Reimer’s first day in big school seemed overwhelming not just for him but for me and his dad as well. It was a bittersweet moment! I felt happy and blessed seeing him stepping into a new milestone of his life, on the other hand, I also felt upset that my little man now is not so little anymore.
Halloween this year went with a blast. Reimer and Ruby were just at the right age this year for the fun that Halloween involved. From the carving of pumpkins in the morning to the Trick or Treating at night, the kids had a fantastic day. Of course, they went out with their cute Batman and Bat girl outfit on. Plus the variety and bountiful of sweeties they got afterwards. It was just what every kids want!
- Ruby finally potty trained
The longest 7 months I’ve never imagined. At long last, she’s finally Potty Trained after a long journey and that’s a big achievement for her this year. Although she still has a few accidents with pooping but apart from that, she has been doing really well. My little lady is definitely not a baby anymore.
- Christmas 2015
A year won’t have an incredible ending without having a wonderful time at Christmas. This year, Christmas is more fun and merrier with Ruby already learning to comprehend the celebration that goes with it. A month before Christmas, Reimer and Ruby received a Letter from Santa, what a better way to start the festive season, isn’t it?
First week of December started off with Putting up Christmas Tree, the excitement and enjoyment they had while doing so was unbelievable and such a pleasure to witness. The magic continued when we Visited Santa in Brechin, where we rode on a steam train and met Santa during the journey.
And lastly, the most awaited moment was Christmas Day, the morning when Reimer and Ruby finally opened up the presents they got from Santa, family and friends. Oh! the delight in their faces were priceless. The day ended up with a nice Christmas dinner with my father-in-law who had joined us the night and spent quiet time watching films afterwards.
