For those who are familiar with my blog and our Story, you must have already known that I am originally from the Philippines. Philippines is an archipelago that consists of 7,107 islands. It’s a shame that I have never even set foot on most of them before I moved over here in the UK. It would have been a lot of islands for me to visit and discover. Typical isn’t it? when we tend to go to other places and yet we have not even travelled through or explored at our own.
My Captured Moment for this week is a photo of me and my husband taken in one of my home country’s island called Malapascua.
Malapascua Island is a small island which is found in the northernmost tip of Cebu, which is only about 2.5 x 1 kilometer. The Island is famous for its pristine stretch of white sand beach, crystal clear waters, beautiful coral gardens and coral walls. It is also popular by tourists as an excellent dive destination.
When he first visited me in the Philippines, that was the time when we went to this beautiful island for a short trip. When we were there, afternoons were mostly spent having a leisurely walk on the white sand along the shore while waiting for the sun to set. Afternoons were ideal for walks as it’s a bit cooler with the sea breeze brushing through compared to mid mornings and midday where the sun was at its strongest point. In the Evenings, star gazing was our favourite thing to do, to kill the time after stuffing ourselves at dinner.
One of our day there was spent for a boat ride that went around the entire island where my husband went snorkeling as well in the middle of the tour. Apart from that, there were loads of boat trips, island hopping and water sports available too if you’re brave and adventurous enough.
Have you been in an Island? what are the nice things you’ve done?
