Miles Kelly’s Questions & Answers Books – REVIEW

Reading book or story has always been part of my kids bedtime routine ever since they were little babies.   Hence, they learn the love for books at a young age.  When Miles Kelly Publishing contacted me to review their newly released Questions and Answers Book Series, of course I jumped at the opportunity.   In fact, I actually thought I’m just going to review one of the books but I was so surprised that I was sent the compete collection which I can’t thank them enough of the kind gesture they’ve extended.

The Questions and Answers Series are fact books which tackles key reference topics for kids aged 5-8 years in a fun question-and-answer format.  Each question is clearly answered and illustrated with artwork, photos and cartoons.   Alongside simple activities throughout to encourage further learning.

When I showed the books to Reimer as soon as he got home from school that day, he enthusiastically get drawn into it.  He initially had a good look at the drawings of the front cover which is paperback on iridescent foil making it very attractive and captivating.  He then specifically picked Science to read first, I guess the robot photo caught his attention the most.  I can see the mesmerized look in his face as he was contemplating through the book.  He curiously stared at every illustrations on every page.  Although he’s fairly good in reading some words, however, there are still some complicated words that he find tricky to read particularly the human body parts.  So I read it loud to him and his inquisitive mind was overflowing which were very satisfactorily answered by the book.   Simply amazing!

Ruby on the other hand showed interest on the books too.  Although she doesn’t know how to read yet but she really enjoyed flipping through the book, looking at the spellbinding pictures in every leaf.  I believe her favorite one is the Animals.

Questions and Answers Science contents are Science, Human Body, Planet Earth and it has an Index at the end.   Every page has questions which is accompanied with bright and colorful photographs, fun cartoons or detailed artwork and is answered with simple and basic facts which children can doubtlessly comprehend.   The caricatures  I think adds more points of interest for young readers including the picky ones.

Questions and Answers Oceans contents are Oceans, Seashore, Coral Reef and an Index page at the end.  This Book relatively imparts a broad idea of what’s going on in the underwater world, where stunning pictures stimulates kids imaginative mind.  This illustrated ocean encyclopedia also composed of pleasurable activity panels and easy-to-follow questions and answers which provides tips on further interactive learning.

Questions and Answers Animals contents are Big Cats, Baby Animals, Monkey and Apes and an Index at the end.  This is a fantastic Animal Encyclopedia which encourages young brains to be aware of the world around them and the wildlife that inhabits it.  Even the simplest question your little one has in mind about bird, big cats or endangered animals, this book will have an answer.

Additionally, it has a Quiz Time at the end of every content in order to check and test the child’s memory.  Relevant pictures shown to help them remember and recall.  Page numbers available to go back to if they get stuck.

I have to say, these Questions and Answers Books are a must for kids to have, without a doubt they will absolutely adore it.  With its educational features and motivational aspect, it is something that should not be missed.   As a matter of fact, Reimer brought one of the books specifically the Science one to school the next day we got it instead of a toy to play with for their golden time.  He proudly shared it to his friends in school and to his Teacher too.  Sure enough everyone can’t get their eyes off it, so he said.
