a Cottage in Alyth – My Captured Moment

It’s Thursday once again which means it’s link time again with Heledd over at Running in Lavender

My Captured Moment for this week is a photo of me when we were on a short holiday and stayed in a cottage in Alyth, way back January 2011.  Alyth is a village in Perth and Kinross in Scotland.

The photo was taken in the beautiful Olive Grove Cottage.

Olive Grove Cottage is a traditional 19th century cottage which has been newly renovated to a high standard by the new owners.  It lies in the picturesque village of Alyth, in Perthshire countryside.   The cottage offers a very luxurious, cozy, comfortable, well-equipped and has an appeal of a heavenly home.   It has a wood burning stove as its main feature, where fire wood are provided too.  The owner’s kind gesture and simple act of thoughtfulness made our stay even more memorable.  They provided us with a welcome tray when we arrived and with a welcome note on the black board as well.  That made us felt really special.

We stayed in the cottage as a short holiday to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary and my husband’s birthday as well which is just 1 day apart.  We had also invited family friends who stayed overnight as we have spare bedroom, where they spent some nights with us too.

What we’ve done while we were there?

We had a wee wander around the little village and the Den of Alyth.  We also had a trip to the town of Blairgowrie.  However, because it was really cold and snowing during that time, we just mostly stayed indoor while sitting nicely and warm in front of the wood burner stove.

Have you tried staying in a cottage for your holiday?
