Reimer turns 6 this month, it certainly came in unbelievably swift for me. I can’t even hold time to stop him from growing and remain little for a lot longer. Although seeing him grow is special and such a privilege, likewise it’s sadly bittersweet.
I reminisce 6 years ago this month, I gave birth to a big baby boy, a 10.10lb baby. Yes, you’re right! This petite body of mine can handle such size on my tummy. I remember one of the Consultants who checked me that time said that I won’t give birth to a 10lb baby. Well, she’s absolutely wrong… because I did!
I was suffering from anxiety during my pregnancy with him following a miscarriage. I have to say, it was not an easy pregnancy. Also, I was overly uncomfortable solely because my tummy was so huge that people think I’ve got twin babies inside. The delivery was not quick either, after a long labor, I still ended up being on emergency c-section because I was not progressing as it should be. He was simply too big to go through my birth canal. However horrible the experience was during pregnancy, delivery and recovery, but it was all worth it.
6 years after, I’m literally pinching myself to accept that he’s been with me for 6 years already. Reimer has grown to be a young little man. So bold, independent, clever, smart and naughty at times which I would say is normal. Having said that, I wouldn’t change him for the world.
His birthday celebration started off with our day trip, you can read my post about it here ⇒ East Links Family Park.
Before we head home that day, we went for a little wander around the coast of North Berwick. The weather was awful and we’re not even appropriately dressed for it because it was a spontaneous decision to pop by but we still had fun despite slightly soaked with sandy wet shoes when we returned to the car.
During his exact birthday, we had a rather quiet time at home as me and my husband were both working that day. But before we had our dinner, we surprised him with his character cake. He didn’t know we have ordered a cake for him. And it’s not just an ordinary cake but an Angry Birds cake… it’s even better for a fanatic like him, isn’t it? He was over the moon when he saw it. You can see how overwhelmed he was on my Instagram post below ⇓
Reimer is already very good in bike since he was 4 so we bought him a bigger bike with gears for his birthday. Oh! he absolutely loved it. He had a few shots of it and get the hang of using the gear quiet quick.
Needless to say, I’m pretty certain that his 6th birthday was a memorable one. He truly appreciated everything we have done for him and what other people who loved him have done for him too. Hoping this beautiful childhood memory of his clings on forever.
